Huckabee: Easier to change the Constitution than the word of the living God

advertisement

Huckabee, in Warren, Mich., today:

"I believe it's a lot easier to change the constitution than it would be to change the word of the living God, and that's what we need to do is to amend the Constitution so it's in God's standards rather than try to change God's standards."

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Change the Constitution!? What happened to preserve, protect and defend?

It's amazing that a presidential candidate could ever make such a statement, especially since the presidential oath is as follows:

"I do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and will to the best of my ability, preserve, protect and defend the Constitution of the United States."

I know that Dennis Kucinich would do everything in his power to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution. It is a document he holds very near and dear - quite literally!

Well, the good news is I doubt Huckabee will be elected.
